About Us

A little bit about us… Shropshire based homemade jams, chutneys and relishes lovingly created for you by Claire

Nancy Helen’s recipes, home made for generations in Shropshire

Nancy Helen

Nancy Helen Relishes is all about ‘preserving the taste of home’ which Nancy Helen and her family’s history testifies and continues today in this generation by her son Mark and daughter in law Claire Towers.

The one passion and character that Nancy Helen Relishes has, is to share, ‘Home’ produced deliciousness with the community locally in Shropshire and further afield.

Nancy Helen also supports her sister Lucy Appleby’s of Hawkstone Abbey Farm cheese, butter and milk which is sold exclusively on her stalls.

Community home kitchens and small batch makes are at the heart of the making of the relishes not big vats and mashed up ingredients – just as it cooks as it’s always been.

Not every jar of goodness is perfect and the same once cooked – just real and made with time, patience and love that’s homemade

We know you will enjoy it’s deliciousness

Meet The Maker

Claire Towers

Hi I am Claire, I would like to tell you a little story behind the brand and my passion, Nancy Helen Relishes.

Nancy Helen Towers, commonly known as “Helen” to all who lovingly knew her was an amazing relish and jam maker. For many years I would arrive at Lilyfields farm kitchen to the delicious smell of chutneys and pickles cooking on the Aga. Nancy Helen would always ask me to help “Claire, please could you stir the chutney while I pot the jars”, the answer was always “yes” with joy in my heart. Over a cuppa we would chat and label relish to be put in her pantry to give to others. The best part of it all was the eating of my favourite chutney with Aunt Lucy and Uncle Lance’s Appleby Smoked Cheshire Cheese on a Sunday night supper feast at Abbey farm. These delights I now make are testimony to Nancy Helen’s devotion and love of all those friends, neighbours and family who she gave her delisious relishes to over the years. I hope as Nancy Helen would, that you enjoy her recipes once again as I know she would have smiled quietly to herself.

All homemade for you.
